Inaugural Carolina Pro Late Model Series Race Set for Dillon Motor Speedway

Fabrication Associates 100 Set for Saturday May 23rd

 

STATESVILLE, NC – May 22, 2020 – On November 21st, the Carolina Pro Late Model Series (CPLMS), presented by Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet, announced its formation as a racing series that was “Built by Racers for Racers”, with an opening day event at the famed Dillon Motor Speedway on March 21st. As with all racing activity across the United States, racing was postponed, leaving opening day in question, due to COVID restrictions.

After much anticipation by series officials, drivers, fans and sponsors, the stage is set for the running of the Fabrication Associates 100 at Dillon Motor Speedway tomorrow, May 23rd, CPLMS’ inaugural racing event.

Just over six months after the announcement of its launch, CPLMS has aligned a stable of sponsors and drivers that would be the envy of any racing series.

With only two weeks to prepare for its opening day, the Fabrication Associates 100 has amassed a pre-entry list of 21 Pro Late Model drivers from up and down the east coast, with representation from Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts to North Carolina, Texas, and New Hampshire. National Late Model stand out Devin O’Connell along with Carson Kvapil, Nick Loden, Kodie Conner, and Ross “Boo Boo” Dalton are among the names that fans will see competing for the $1,200 prize and the bragging rights of winning CPLMS’ first racing event. In addition to top Late Model talent, NASCAR Cup Series team Rick Ware Racing with JR Courage has fielded several entries in support of its driver development program.

During the off-season, CPLMS racing owner and promoter, Keith Graham and his team successfully aligned more than 20 marketing partners, headlined by Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet, the title sponsor of the CPLMS Racing Series.  

“With so much support from drivers and sponsors it has been beyond difficult to postpone our opening day, the anticipation is killing everybody”, stated Series Owner and Promoter Keith Graham. “I have to thank our sponsors, drivers, race team owners, and Ron Barfield the owner of Dillon Motor Speedway for all of the support and faith in what we’ve built, the fans won’t be disappointed”, stated Graham.

Regarding the race day schedule, gates open at 10AM for competitors, Practice begins at 12:00 PM, Qualifying at 3:00PM, and the green flat at 5:00PM.
